The Strap-ons

1993-1994

Hailing from Lake Charles, LA, The Strap-Ons rose from the splinters of several local bands in 1993. Trouble seemed to plague them at gigs, and live shows were frequently raided by local law enforcement.

Their most notorious gig (which landed them in the Lake Charles American Press newspaper)occurred at Nell's Rock'n'Roll and Blues Bar, and was also the source for the title of their only EP, "Keeler Wheelchair Handgun". Recorded in 1994 at Magnolia Music Studio with J. Levingston, it is a nice documentary of their output, though far from complete.

The Strap-Ons were Todd Z., Darrel O., Troy D., and Jack A. All are still musically active today in local bands.
